Hunter Mahan, a six-time PGA Tour winner with over $30m in career earnings, has firmly ruled out returning to professional golf. Now serving as a high school golf coach in Texas, Mahan finds fulfillment in teaching teenagers while maintaining a balanced family life with his four children.

"Having to travel and do all the other things that if you want to be a professional golfer you have to do, I do not miss any of that," Mahan told Golf Monthly, expressing contentment with his domestic life and family-focused routine.

Despite his impressive career, which included two WGC titles and three Ryder Cup appearances, Mahan has no plans to return to competitive golf, even when he becomes eligible for the PGA Tour Champions at 50.

"I'm not willing to pay that price," he explains, acknowledging the intense dedication required for professional golf. He particularly notes the challenge of "climbing the mountain twice," referencing players like Rickie Fowler and Keegan Bradley who've successfully balanced comebacks with family life.

As a coach at Liberty Christian in Argyle, Texas, Mahan finds satisfaction in developing young talent and watching players improve. "It's challenging to create a culture in high school... taking a kid who might have shot in the 90s and getting a little bit better, that's really neat," he reflects.
