Joel Dahmen Sinks Crucial Putt At RSM Classic To Keep PGA Tour Card Hopes Alive
Joel Dahmen made a crucial five-foot par putt on the 18th hole at the RSM Classic to keep his PGA Tour card hopes alive. Currently projected at No. 126 in the FedEx Cup standings, Dahmen needs to finish inside the top 125 to maintain his PGA Tour status for 2025.
Tiger Woods fist pumps in victory
"My story's still not done," an emotional Dahmen said after making the cut. The 37-year-old has struggled this season with just one top-10 finish and 10 missed cuts. His only PGA Tour victory came at the 2021 Corales Puntacana Championship.
The pressure-packed putt came after Dahmen left his 40-foot birdie attempt five feet past the hole. "It was a very nervous putt. It wasn't the game winner, it was like the half-court shot to get us to halftime," Dahmen explained.
The cut line drama affected other bubble players as well:
- Wesley Bryan (started No. 125) missed the cut and is projected at No. 127
- Zac Blair (started No. 123) missed the cut and is now projected at No. 125
Dahmen has 36 holes remaining to secure his PGA Tour future. "I have a lot left in me and I'm going to give my all, but this weekend's big, for sure," he said.
