John Catlin Leads Race For LIV Golf Spot With Two Asian Tour Events Remaining
The Asian Tour's International Series offers a unique pathway to the LIV Golf League, with the rankings winner earning automatic qualification for the following season. Currently, American John Catlin leads the standings with 900.58 points, though his advantage has shrunk to less than 90 points over second-placed Ben Campbell.
The Series consists of 10 elevated tournaments with minimum $2 million purses across the Asian Tour's 21-event schedule. Players finishing 2nd through 8th earn entry into round two of LIV Golf Promotions, while other top performers can qualify for round one.
Catlin's impressive season includes:
- Victory at International Series Macau
- Runner-up finishes in Morocco and Thailand
- Eight top-10 results on the Asian Tour
Two crucial events remain:
- International Series Qatar ($2.5M purse)
- Saudi International ($5M purse) featuring 40+ LIV golfers
Previous Series winners Scott Vincent and Andy Ogletree both successfully transitioned to LIV Golf through this pathway. The final champion will be crowned after the Saudi International concludes on December 7.
