Lexi Thompson to Retire from Full-Time Golf, Plans Occasional Tournament Appearances in 2024

Lexi Thompson hints at occasional tournament appearances in 2024 despite stepping back from full-time professional golf. Speaking ahead of the CME Group Tour Championship, Thompson clarified her retirement plans while reflecting on her illustrious career.

"It's just from full-time golf. I may tee it up a few times next year," Thompson explained. "A matter of when and what tournaments I don't know. I am just going to take time for myself and take it day by day."

The 11-time LPGA Tour winner hasn't ruled out participating in the Chevron Championship (formerly Kraft Nabisco Championship), where she claimed her only major title in 2014.

Her final 2023 appearance will be at the Grant Thornton Invitational in December, partnering with Rickie Fowler in the mixed event.

"I'm not going anywhere," Thompson assured. "I am still involved in the game, and I want to lead the impact and get kids involved at a younger age and see them enjoy it."
