Rory McIlroy delivered a heartfelt tribute to his caddie Harry Diamond after clinching his sixth Race to Dubai title at Jumeirah Golf Estates' Earth Course. The World No.3 addressed criticism directed at Diamond during his victory speech, emphasizing the invaluable contribution of his best friend and caddie of seven years.

"He gets his fair share of stick, which is not warranted. He's an amazing caddie. He's the best friend that I could ever ask for," McIlroy said with visible emotion.

The 2024 season saw McIlroy compete in 27 tournaments, securing four victories and ten top-10 finishes, including four runner-up positions. Throughout these achievements, Diamond remained a constant presence and support.

The victory also carried special significance as it equaled Seve Ballesteros's record of six European Tour Order of Merit titles. Speaking to Sky Sports, an emotional McIlroy reflected on matching the legendary Spaniard's achievement: "I think everyone knows what Seve means to European golf... for me to be mentioned in the same breath, I'm very proud."

This win not only showcases McIlroy's continued dominance in professional golf but also highlights the importance of strong player-caddie relationships in achieving success at the highest level.
