PGA Tour Announces 2024 Player Of The Year Finalists With Scheffler, McIlroy, And Schauffele Leading Race
The PGA Tour has announced nominations for its prestigious end-of-year awards. For the Jack Nicklaus Award (Player of the Year), three players are in contention:
- Scottie Scheffler: Seven wins including The Masters, 16 top-10 finishes, no missed cuts, lowest scoring average (68.645)
- Xander Schauffele: Two Major victories (PGA Championship, The Open), 15 top-10 finishes in 22 starts, no missed cuts
- Rory McIlroy: Two wins (Zurich Classic, Wells Fargo Championship), seven top-10 finishes

- Jake Knapp: Won Mexico Open, three other top-10s, 17/23 cuts made
- Matthieu Pavon: Won Farmers Insurance Open, three other top-10s including 5th at US Open, qualified for Tour Championship
