Marc Leishman has sparked discussion by suggesting all professional male golfers should be grateful to Greg Norman for increasing earnings across both LIV Golf and the PGA Tour. Speaking at the Australian Open, Leishman emphasized how Norman's efforts with LIV Golf have benefited players on both circuits.

Norman leveraged Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) to launch LIV Golf with substantial prize money and signing bonuses, attracting top players like Jon Rahm, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, and Brooks Koepka. This competition prompted the PGA Tour to increase its own prize funds.

"The players have benefited from it whether you're on LIV or you're not on LIV. He put his arse on the line to get this started," Leishman stated. "Love him or hate him, as a golfer, he's certainly helped our lifestyle."

Reports suggest Norman may soon be replaced as LIV Golf CEO by former sports executive Scott O'Neil, as Saudi PIF leaders seek a less controversial figure during ongoing PGA Tour negotiations.

Leishman, who plays for Ripper GC alongside Cam Smith in LIV Golf, hopes Norman remains involved beyond his contract's end next August. "I think he will [stay at LIV] as he's worked really hard, really given a few years of his life," Leishman added, acknowledging Norman's significant time investment in launching the tour.
